Who you’re dealing with
Sincerely, Lilanie is a brand of MeowMedia Services, a registered Jamaican business operated by Kerece Williams (“Lilanie”, “I”, “me”). These terms cover orders placed directly with me through this site.
Enquiries, not instant orders
Sending a form starts a conversation — it isn’t a confirmed order. I’ll reply within 48 hours with your total, timeline and payment options. Your booking is confirmed once payment is received, and I’ll let you know if I can’t take the work on.
Prices & currency
Prices are set in US dollars; the Jamaican figures shown are approximate and move with the exchange rate. Signed books are US$20 each plus postage. Poem commissions start at US$50 for text delivered by email. Handwritten, canvas, video and image commissions are quoted individually. Any fees your bank or payment provider charges are yours to cover.
Payment
Payment is made in full before work begins or a book is posted, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing. No poem is written and no parcel leaves until payment clears.
Delivery & postage
You pay for delivery. Postage and handling are added to your total and depend on where you are and which method you choose. Faster methods cost more; you pick, you pay.
- Text by email: 5–7 business days from confirmed payment.
- Handwritten, canvas, and posted items: crafting time is quoted with your order, then transit time on top.
- Video and image formats: timelines quoted individually, delivered digitally.
Timelines start when payment clears and all the details I need have been received. If you’re working to a deadline — a wedding, a funeral, a birthday — tell me at the start and I’ll be honest about whether it can be met.
Once it’s in the post, it’s out of my hands
I post promptly and pack with care, but delivery is carried out by postal services and couriers I don’t control. I can’t guarantee, and am not responsible for, how long transit takes — nor for customs delays, weather, strikes, misrouting, or a parcel left in the wrong place after it’s marked delivered. Any estimate a carrier gives is theirs, not a promise from me. Where tracking exists, I’ll pass it to you so you can follow it yourself.
Addresses, customs & duties
Please check your mailing address carefully — I post to exactly what you give me, and a parcel returned or lost through a wrong address will need reposting at your cost. For international orders, any customs charges, import duties or taxes are the recipient’s responsibility.
Lost or damaged parcels
If a parcel arrives damaged or doesn’t arrive within a reasonable window, tell me and I’ll help you chase the carrier and work something out. Please raise it within 30 days of the posting date.
Revisions & refunds
Every commission includes one round of gentle revisions — fixing a name, a date, a detail I’ve misread. Poems are written to your brief and made for you alone, so once written they can’t be refunded. Requests that change the brief entirely may be quoted as new work. Signed books can’t be returned once inscribed and posted, unless they arrive damaged. Cancel before I’ve started and I’ll refund you in full.
Who owns the poem
The poem is yours to keep, gift, read aloud, print and frame however you like for personal use. I keep the copyright as its author. Commercial use — advertising, resale, merchandise, brand campaigns — needs a separate agreement, so tell me upfront if that’s the intention. I won’t publish your commissioned poem or your story publicly without asking you first.
What you send me
Please only share stories, names and details you have the right to share. Anything you send stays confidential, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
Workshops, coaching & performances
Online sessions run anywhere in the world. In-person bookings are Jamaica-wide; international bookings are welcome where travel and accommodation costs are covered by the client, agreed in writing before the date is held. Booking fees are quoted per engagement. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule; missed sessions without notice may be charged. If I ever have to cancel, you’ll be offered a new date or a full refund.
Work I may decline
I write from a place of healing and honesty, and I reserve the right to decline any request I’m not the right poet for — including anything hateful, harassing, defamatory, or intended to hurt someone. If I decline before starting, you’re refunded in full.
Books on Amazon
Books bought through Amazon are sold, priced, printed and delivered by Amazon under their own terms. Returns and delivery questions for those orders go to Amazon, not to me. Signed copies ordered here come directly from me.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated; the date at the top changes when they do. The version in force is the one shown when you place your order. These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica.
